We write these pages to help Tampa homeowners understand their roofs. They're general help, not a verdict on yours.

Two roofs with the same stain on the ceiling can need very different fixes. The roof's age, its material, how it was put on, what earlier repairs were done and how exposed it is to wind and sun all change the answer. So please read what's here as background, and let a roofer look before you decide anything.
What this website is not
- Not an inspection. Only someone on your roof and in your attic can tell you what's wrong with it.
- Not a quote. The cost figures in our guides are rough planning ranges for typical homes around Tampa and Hillsborough County. Size, pitch, material, decking found rotten once the old roof is off, access and permits all move the number. Your written estimate is the price.
- Not a wind rating for your home. Nothing here tells you what wind load your roof must be built for or whether it meets it. That comes from the Florida Building Code for your address, the product's Florida Product Approval and the permit. Wind-rated and impact-resistant materials lower the risk of damage; they don't remove it, and no roof is storm-proof.
- Not a grant decision. Programs such as My Safe Florida Home set their own eligibility rules and funding limits, and those can change from one year to the next.
- Not insurance advice. Your carrier and your policy decide what's covered.
- Not a record of a real job. Photos on the site show the kind of roofs and work we describe. They aren't pictures of a particular customer's home.
If you'd like an answer about your own roof rather than roofs in general, call (813) 851-4286. The inspection costs nothing.
