Emergency roof tarping and repair in Tampa

When the roof is open to the weather, the job is to close it today and fix it properly after.

When to call it an emergency

  • A tree or a large limb has come through or onto the roof
  • Wind has torn shingles or tiles off and the deck is showing
  • Water is pouring in, not just dripping
  • A tarp from an earlier storm has blown off

For these, call rather than filling in the form. The line answers 24/7, takes the address and what has happened, and a crew is sent as soon as it is safe to be on the roof.

Tarped the right way

A tarp only helps if it stays on. We run it over the ridge where possible, fasten it with wooden battens, and keep the fasteners where they can be sealed later. A loose tarp that flaps for a week does more harm than good. Once the weather settles, we come back with photos and a written price for the permanent repair.

Keep everyone safe

Stay off the roof. Keep away from downed power lines and report them to Tampa Electric. If water is getting near electrical fixtures, turn off the circuit if you can do so without standing in water.

Questions about emergency roofing & tarps

Do you really come out at night?

The phone is answered at night. Crews go up when it is safe to be on a roof, which after dark or in lightning sometimes means first light.

Is a tarp covered by insurance?

Many policies expect you to take reasonable steps to prevent further damage. Keep the invoice and photos for your claim and check your policy.

Can you remove the tree limb too?

We can remove limbs resting on the roof. Large trees or limbs still attached usually need a tree service; we can work alongside them.
